Skilled Labour
Everyone from apprentices to master craftsmen is welcome at Woodwork+Pub. Our learning environment provides opportunities to improve, advance, and learn new skills. Many of our artisans are trained in a combination of wood, steel, glass, upholstery, or solid surface applications.

Woodwork+Pub is proud to present the next generation of butcher block. Created by our modern artisans, Caribou is the ideal addition to any commercial build.
Custom Butcher Block
Woodwork+Pub’s butcher block can be used for commercial countertops, kitchen backsplashes, shelves, cutting boards, and custom furniture pieces. Our artisans can produce large volumes of custom butcher block using any kind of wood, and in any shape and size.
As part of our philosophy of continual improvement, we take steps to build a better butcher block. Each of the pieces are layered and glued together for a stronger bond and greater support. The butcher block is then aged and treated with our End+Edge Technology, making it food safe, waterproof, and impact resistant while eliminating the need for maintenance.
End Edge
Woodwork+Pub’s proprietary End+Edge Technology makes our butcher block completely watertight, food safe, and impact resistant, all while giving a 100% matte sheen that’s identical to that of a traditional oiled and waxed butcher block.

Woodwork+Pub is a one-stop shop for custom commercial millwork that offers superior service, a high level of craftsmanship, and over 30 years of experience in the Edmonton, Alberta, area.
Upholstery
Woodwork+Pub’s dedicated upholstery staff works with our team of artisan woodworkers to create any style of furniture or radius work. We specialize in restaurant boothing, but our recent expansion in the upholstery division has allowed us to serve our customers in other commercial areas, such as volume seating and bar stools.
Our skilled needleworkers provide in-house patterning and templates for any project. We have access to a range of commercial-grade fabrics, vinyls, leathers, and custom-shaped foam options from several manufacturers.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our custom millwork. Our modern artisans can combine wood, metal, and glass to create a distinctive product unmatched by retailers and other custom shops.
Woodwork
Hospitality, Commercial, Multi-Family
Our master woodworkers can create custom, solid, and veneer woodwork out of any materials for any purpose. If you know what you’re looking for, we can use rendering software to build a 3-D representation of the item, and then reproduce that item in any quantity.
We can create a wide variety of features and finishes to accent any room, including doors, casings, jambs, baseboards, partitions, ceiling features, and radius work. If you’re looking for an unusual piece of furniture, we can build desk sets, headboards, armoires, upholstered seating, or any other custom furnishings. We can also build custom storage and display units such as bars, liquor displays, and cabinets.
Metalwork

Our skilled welders have years of experience working with various metals such as copper, aluminum, and raw and stainless steel. Using this knowledge, they can create custom metalwork of any size, including mirror frames and accents. They can also incorporate some pieces, such as structural components for our custom woodwork, into larger builds.
Glasswork

We can incorporate panels of tempered and untempered glass into other pieces, such as doors, partitions, bars and liquor displays, and storefronts. While we don’t provide glassblowing on-site, we have access to master glassblowers and their high-quality products.

We have access to a range of commercial-grade fabrics, vinyls, leathers, and custom-shaped foam options from several manufacturers. We also provide high-volume upholstery service and repair on a commercial level, as well as after-service for previous customers.
Solid Surfacing
Solid Surfacing
Our solid surfacing employees are fully certified to work with all materials. They’re comfortable with radius work and can create any commercial applications, including tables, countertops, furniture, features, and custom items. We manage fabrication and installation, and can provide a seamless finish on-site.
We have contracts with major suppliers and access to all materials except stone. Solid surfacing is a workable material that only improves with age, making it a prime choice for long-term use. It has impressive refinishing properties, and if the surface breaks, our team can and will repair it.

Servicing
Servicing
Custom millwork and solid surfacing looks best when it’s been correctly installed, which is why we train our artisans to ensure that craftsmanship is carried throughout the installation process. We provide a superior finished product made to the proper measurements and completed on time. If there’s a problem with the installation, we’ll come back and fix it to the customer’s satisfaction.
Problems can sometimes appear after we have finished a project, whether it’s serious damage or everyday wear and tear. Our dedicated after-service team will return to the site and provide repairs and maintenance. Products are covered under a lifetime service plan and a one-year warranty for manufacturing defect.

The way we see it, if we’re giving the best possible product to our customers, we’re all getting ahead together.
History
1984 – Woodwork+Pub was founded. At the time, it occupied 5,000 square feet and had four full-time employees.
2009 – Woodwork+Pub was purchased by Cory Brightwell, and the shop expanded to 6,000 square feet and six full-time employees. Maurice Peloquin joined management as part-owner and Production Director.
2011 – Woodwork+Pub acquired 10,000 additional square feet to further expand operations, and staff grew to 12 full-time employees. Brent Bell joined management as part-owner and Sales & Marketing Director.
2012 – Woodwork+Pub acquired fully automated processing equipment and opened an upholstery division. Staff grew to 19 full-time employees. We began manufacturing, shipping, and installing our work across Western Canada.
2013 – Woodwork+Pub opened the butcher block division and a full-time steel shop. We acquired 4,000 additional square feet with two mezzanine levels, increasing our overall manufacturing space to 20,000 square feet. We also successfully completed two large restaurants in Ontario and two in Winnipeg, and expanded our shipping range across Canada.
2014 – Woodwork+Pub is currently building a second mezzanine level for another full upholstery team. We recently installed a fully automated industrial radio-frequency glue production line to minimize butcher block production time and increase capacity. Our projects are now expanding into the United States.
Craftsmanship
While mass-produced products can break or wear down, our skilled artisans build products to last. We create custom millwork, furniture, upholstery, and solid surfacing. We also recently launched the Caribou line of butcher block products. All products are made in-house, allowing us to control the project from design to installation.
Using our advanced 3-D rendering software, our design team creates in-house shop drawings to match the customer’s vision. We then source the best materials, using in-house automation to improve accuracy, production, and volume. All final products meet and exceed Architectural Woodwork Manufacturers’ Association of Canada (AWMAC) standards.
Woodwork+Pub has a philosophy of continual improvement. That means keeping up with market practices, finding new techniques, figuring out what meets customers’ needs, and reinventing products to improve them wherever possible. This includes the development of our proprietary End+Edge Technology, a polyspray application that protects seams and grain against everyday damage.
